N2W has immediate full time engineering opportunities in our Irvine, California office. The ideal candidate should have between three and five years of related work experience in the field of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering and/or Construction Management. The successful candidate will have significant prior experience in water and wastewater engineering or construction. Extensive knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and project management software is highly desired. Candidate must have the ability to continuously learn new skills and processes and have superior written and communication skills. 

Responsibilities:

Job duties of a successful candidate include taking ownership under the direction of N2W’s project management team to:

  • Provide leadership and deliver projects for clients including leading less experienced engineering staff in the design of water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and pipelines with the ability to independently complete design elements such as process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), hydraulic profiles, and process/mechanical details.
  • Perform supervisory duties for the staff engineer including time/expense approvals, monitoring utilization, workload planning, annual performance conversations, and similar responsibilities.
  • Take on ownership and responsibility for calculation of treatment process requirements and to identify equipment specifications while working collaboratively with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions.
  • Initiate and complete engineering feasibility studies (EFS), engineering design reports (EDR), preliminary design reports (PDR), 30%, 60%, 90% and final design.
  • Provide detailed estimates of costs related to engineering design, equipment procurement, installation/construction, startup/commissioning, and operation & maintenance scopes of services.
  • Perform QA/QC of internal and external deliverables.
  • In collaboration with Project Managers, manage the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust staffing to ensure the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule and budget.
  • Attendance at client meetings with the ability to lead and present on specific technical portions to a large audience of peers and client personnel and support business development opportunities
  • Identify staff training needs and/or provide training as established by strategic plans and objectives, including technical knowledge, engineering standards, engineering specification, engineering best practices, and project management tools.
  • Recruit and retain staff engineer, engineer associates, and CAD professionals
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in an Engineering in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Construction Management will be considered) from an accredited four-year university.
  • Three to five years of related work experience.
  • Must have either obtained the State of California Professional Engineers Civil License OR have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with the ability to obtain the State of California Professional Engineers Civil License within one years from the date of full-time employment.
  • Sufficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite of applications to work independently.
  • Ability to travel and work for extended periods at a project sites.

The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate with either Bachelor or Master of Science degrees in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering (we will also consider Construction Management for this position). The successful candidate will have their emphasis of study and interest in water and wastewater engineering. Prior experience and knowledge in the use of AutoCAD is required. Candidate must be a quick learner with strong written and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

A successful candidate will support N2W’s project management team with:

N2W has immediate full time opportunities for wastewater treatment plant operators at an industrial wastewater treatment facility located in Fullerton, California. The Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating the wastewater treatment facility and keep the facility in compliance with required permits.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate who reports to N2W’s Operation and Maintenance Manager will:

  • Read charts, flow meters, and gauges to detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Monitors wastewater plant equipment.
  • Collect samples, make process reports, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Conducts and documents all required inspections on daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions and established procedures.
  • Resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Apply basic and develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.
  • Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion daily.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software.

N2W has immediate internship opportunities in our Irvine, California office.  The ideal candidate should be in the process of obtaining their Bachelor or Master of Science degrees in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering (we will consider Construction Management or other engineering disciplines for this position).  The successful candidate will have their emphasis of study and interest in water and wastewater engineering. Although N2W will train the candidate in AutoCAD, prior experience is extremely helpful. Candidate must be a quick learner with strong communication skills.
